Destiny 2: Forsaken opens with an explosive jailbreak in the Prison of Elders. As the most notorious outlaws in the system escape their confines, the only thing standing between them and our home is you and Cayde-6, the most legendary Hunter sworn to protect the City.

As season 3 winds down in the Destiny 2 Crucible, Bungie is working to ensure that Season 4 is more rewarding and continues the legacy of high-end loot with a new weapon in the Redrix arsenal.

In Destiny 2, there’s a ceiling for the acquisition of power. Currently, the only way to surpass it is to dip into the Solstice of Heroes event and assemble the 400-power Resplendent armour, although even this number will be irrelevant once the Forsaken expansion raises the roof on those numbers. It’s the how of this chase that’s getting a significant reset however, as Forsaken will introduce new paths to power.

If there’s one thing that Destiny 2 got right from day one, it was the idea of making its currency a lot less convoluted. Want to upgrade a gun or grab a few mods? A combination of Glimmer and Legendary Shards is all that you needed, resources which were available easily and often enough. While world resources could be used to purchase engrams from other characters in Destiny 2, it’s a system that largely focuses on the big two of its cryptarcho-currency but also a system that’s going to be receiving a substantial change in the massive Destiny 2.0 update on August 28.

A brand new location as dangerous and mysterious as it is beautiful, Destiny 2's Dreaming City looks to be another big step in the right direction for Bungie's sci-fi shooter. Filled with puzzles, loot, and lore, this new location will test players both just looking for an open-world experience and some strategic high-level raid action.

In a livestream last night, Bungie detailed this new approach to weapons, that is aimed (Ha!) at making these tools of death feel a bit more special when one drops for you. Here’s the breakdown of what was revealed last night.

Did you know that only a few thousand Guardians possess the best PVP pulse rifle, Redrix’s Claymore? Or that in the one week that it was available to collect, over 194 000 Guardians acquired Whisper of the Worm? Some people reckon that Destiny 2’s Time To Kill factor is perhaps too generous, that it needs to be shortened and reduced drastically. Well congrats folks, because that’s happening and I’m sitting here with my arms crossed in a huff about this.
