The latest big name to kind of opt out of the E3 festivities? None other than Electronic Arts, who’ll also be ditching the big press conference idea in favour of something a little bit more…different. Instead of the single hour-long presentation that has become a running joke in E3 circles, EA will instead spend the week before E3 releasing smaller livestreams.

Apex Legends is also a game that’s constantly evolving, taking into account fan feedback and growing from constructive criticism to be the experience that keeps fans around for the long run. Over on reddit, developer Respawn Entertainment decided to give an update on what to expect in the near future, in terms of balance in gameplay and the arsenal available to players.

EA, publisher of BioWare’s Anthem has acknowledged that the game – primarily on PlayStation 4 – is hard crashing consoles. Much like Destiny’s fabled Exotics, Anthem has a rarity class all of its own: Masterwork weapons. Unlike Destiny however, Masterwork weapons have barely any personality beyond their more inflated damage-dealing numbers, don’t feel worth the effort to obtain and are oftentimes badly designed collections of fancy effects. So they’re kind of a reflection of Anthem in its current state.

Anthem may look like a slick blend of action and exploration all wrapped up in some shiny armour, but beneath its surface lies a game that is riddled with bugs, shallow world-building and a paint by numbers approach to its design.

The Sims 4 regularly receives an infusion of new content through new game packs, and next week sees the release of new gear that leans towards the more mysterious side of life. Cue the X-Files theme.
