The fan favourite Festival of the Lost event is back in Destiny 2, with some sweet reards up for grabs. Provided that you're willing to enter the Hauted Forest, that is.
In Destiny 2, the Cosmodrome is a memory from another era. One that definitely deserves to be revisited, during the Festival of the Lost, as recent data-mining suggests that players might soon return to where their journey started.
Trekking through the Infinite Forest felt more like a slog than an actual adventure, with its supposedly random simulations of possible timelines being predictable gauntlets of enemies. The latest incarnation of the Festival of the lost changes all that, for the better. Not only is Destiny 2 really taking advantage of the season of spookiness, it’s also offering players a remix of an underutilised area that deserves better.
Without Curse of Osiris and Warmind, Destiny 2's latest DLC chapter Forsaken is unplayable. That’s extra cash for content that few players care for, something that Bungie has finally realised and have decided to press forward with a new solution: Make those expansions free…kind of.
Next week’s Festival of the Lost will see players return to the sun-scorched lands of Mercury. Loot! Honour! Revenge! This year’s Festival of the Lost feels especially poignant, as the survivors of the Red War gather to remember the countless Guardians lost to the Red Legion invasion, as well as the recent death of Cayde-6 in Forsaken.
Destiny 2 is in a comfortable groove right now. The path to power and its focus on being a grind that has you experimenting with different weapon loadouts as you make more meaningful upgrade choices is enjoyable, the three-week curse cycle in the Dreaming City adds new content constantly and I’m of the opinion that Gambit should be the hottest …
