A Raid may be Destiny at its most Destiniest, but I’ve loved me a good ol-fashioned strike. It’s the middle-ground between the longform structure of a Raid and the more open exploration of the sandbox activities of Destiny. A quick jaunt into an environment fraught with peril and the bullet-spongiest of bosses around. Destiny 2 has a brand new Strike featuring just those elements in the form of the Inverted Spire.

The setup for Countdown in Destiny 2 is easy enough: Like every other mode on offer the action is restrained to 4v4, respawns are limited and you have only one life to give when said revives are spent. The objective? Activate a charge and defend it for around half a minute or defend said charge and defuse any that have been activated. It’s simple, fast and furious. Which is why Countdown is so much damn fun to play.

For many players, Destiny 2 is their first taste of Bungie’s space epic. They’re going to be greener than a Fallen with their first blaster cannon. This is the point where Destiny needs to sell itself once again,with an opening level that shows off what makes the game so great: A sense of scale, overwhelming odds and the general badassery of being a Guardian. Destiny 2’s opening level does just that.

Battle Chasers, a fantasy steampunk series of comic books with the publishing schedule of James Cameron’s Avatar’s sequels. Battle Chasers would eventually cease printing after nine issues and a prelude, a pity really because the series had potential. A combination of all things arcaney and steamy, it wore its RPG influences proudly on its giant oversized gloves. It was fun, brief and colourful. But far from dead, as THQ Nordic has grand plans for the franchise.
