As the servers went down, the Darkness began consuming several locations (which are now being added to the Destiny Vault) in our solar system. Mercury, Io, Titan, and Mars all went dark, taking with it numerous Raids, Strikes, and beloved characters. “This will not be the end, it will be an escalation,” Eris Morn said right as the screen faded to black and maintenance began on the game for its new expansion. The Darkness is here, and the Light is barely keeping it at bay.

Heavy, yet light. Thoughtful yet bombastic. It’s a caveat of video games, because that’s just how they are. That’s how games like Far Cry 5 are structured, as they need to not only tell a good story, but give players of multiple demographics something fun to play.

Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris is going to make your Guardian a lot more powerful

So what’s next for Destiny 2? The OCD Guardian inside of me is currently obsessed with getting his hands on a complete collection of exotics, but the post-game grind of Destiny 2 is largely cosmetic and a decent excuse to talk nonsense with my fan club. If you thought that Destiny was too easy, well good news then you masochistic fiend: Bungie has heard you and they’re cranking up the difficulty for select events. Destiny 2 – Look at all the beautiful new armour!

By Darryn Bonthuys

Titans wore bulky suits of armour that made them the first and last line of defense against the darkness, Hunters stuck to lighter arrangements of heavy-duty fabrics and lightweight protection to give them an agile edge in combat and Warlocks proudly wore their scholarly pursuits upon their immaculate sleeves. To put it short, Guardians were stylin’ and profilin’ across the rings of Saturn and the red sands of Mars. In Destiny 2? That style has evolved even further.

I’m off to Los Angeles next week to go get some sweet hands-on time with Destiny 2. I know this, because I got an invite in the mail. An invite which came with a big clue as to the narrative setup for Destiny 2, as Bungie is teasing a sequel that welcomes you to a world "without Light".
