Nintendo held their latest Nindie Direct yesterday, and in that short span of time a whole lot of fantastic-looking content was shown off. Highlights include Enter the Gungeon getting a sequel by the name of Exit the Gungeon that happens to be out right meow, a card battler game with a living board to play on by the name of Faeria and Moving Out giving physics victims PTSD with its wacky application of the laws of Newton.

The Big N is ready to kick off Gamescom 2019, and this may just be one of the strongest showings yet for Nintendo ever since they revealed their Switch handheld console. The tail end of 2019 looks like an amazing time for Switch owners, as first-party games such as the latest Pokemon and Luigi’s Mansion 3 will be balanced by a ton of new indie games.

Yesterday saw Nintendo announce a slew of new indies, or Nindies as they call them. The best of the bunch? Easily Into The Breach, a game which operates like the bastard child of XCOM and Pacific Rim, with some time travel thrown into the mix for good measure. Other big big names in a big big world (if you leeeeeeaaaaaave me) includes cult classics such as Hyper Light Drifter, Towerfall and Samurai Gunn 2.

Which is also an apt description of how my brain works. The Big N’s latest console may not have games which feature cutting edge visuals, but then again it doesn’t need to.
