As you might expect given how much most consumers seemed to love it, Ubisoft’s open world shooter Far Cry 5was the best-selling game of March 2018 in the US.

Xbox One (and X!) beat PlayStation 4 in US console sales in December. Nintendo's humble little Switch beat them all.

For two whole months, Nintendo’s Switch stole the top hardware spot in the US. For two months, it was nice to not report that that Sony’s console was the top-selling system in America. Just those two months though, as Nintendo’s Switch has been dethroned by King PlayStation.

The games industry - in the US at least - is a lot healthier and less stagnant than we've been led to believe. It's all because of digital distribution.

The Xbox One was the best selling console in the US for four months. That streak has now been broken.

For the first time since the new consoles were released, Microsoft's topped the sales charts in the US for three months in a row.

Spurred on by the Xbox One S, Microsoft's topped the US hardware charts for a second month running.

Hardware sales may be down, but games sales ar up - and the big winner in March is Ubisoft.
