Back in my day, you could have a team of all tanks but apparently that’s just not considered fun any more.

While most of the buzz around this soft sequel has focused on the single-player content, Blizzard wants to show off all the work it has done on multiplayer.

After almost two decades at Blizzard, Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan has announced that he’ll be leaving the company. Across 19 years, Kaplan’s career saw him him work on games such as Warcraft 3, World of Warcraft, and Titan, the latter getting the axe and instead being transformed into Overwatch. As the director on its continual development, Kaplan became a beloved source of information in the fan community.

BlizzConOnline will be a free show that will be streamed from February 20-21, and will encompass everything that Blizzard is currently ready to talk about. There’ll be a number of main channels that you can tune into, each one dedicated to a franchise, and providing deep dives into what’s next for those games and a behind the scenes look at other aspects of their creation.

Technically a game can’t be delayed if it never had a release date, but if you were expecting to play Diablo 4 or Overwatch 2 in 2021 then buddy do I have some bad news for you.

January’s a bit of a dry month, but for the rest of the year? There’s some dang good content on the way. Arkane’s version of Groundhog Day, Ubisoft’s return to madcap acid trips with guns, and the twilight of the gods boy, are just some of the highlights on the horizon. So here’s a rundown, of what to expect this year.

Jeff Kaplan mentioned that the game will be shown at next year’s BlizzCon Online. You just know someone wanted to call it BlizzConline but given the company’s recent history it would probably raise too many eyebrows.

Blizzcon has been doing virtual events for a while now but this will be the first time that the event is free for all attendees.
