It’s also a fantastic game to watch, as developer Insomniac haven’t just crafted the definitive Spider-Man simulator, they’ve stuffed it with a story that knows exactly when to make you laugh and when to reach for a box of tissues to wipe the tears from your face.

Marvel’s Spider-Man is charming and energetic, action-packed and surprisingly capable of tugging on your heart strings to deliver a one-two punch to the emotional gut. If you had to sum up Marvel’s Spider-Man in one word, nothing would be more apt than…amazing.

For the first time in four years, a proper solo Spider-Man game is dropping on console, with Sunset Overdrive developers Insomniac filling up the development web canisters and slinging code to deliver what looks to be the best version of the wallcrawler.
