Gran Turismo Sport producer is aiming for 240 frames per second graphics

So what’s next for the franchise and Gran Turismo Sport in particular? With the PlayStation 5 on the way and rumours of TRUE 8K POWER doing the rounds, it’s not hard to imagine Gran Turismo Sport aiming for retina-searing resolutions. Not so, says producer Kazunori Yamauchi! The man behind the franchise has his eyes set on a higher goal currently, as he’s convinced that the future of games looking damn good lies not in the number of pixels on the screen but rather at the rate they throw them at your face.

There’s an announcement that many people who’re invested in video games or the gaming industry are waiting on Sony to make. It’s not this one. Sony announced this weekend that they’ll summarily be shutting down the official PlayStation forums.

Sony bought Insomniac for $229 Million–and that was mostly in cold, hard cash

In August last year, Sony purchased Insomniac Games, developer of the PS4 exclusive Spider-Man. That game has gone on to be the most successful superhero games of all time – selling 13 million copies. Buying Insomniac was a logical move; the developer had worked with Sony on several exclusive games and franchises before, including Spyro the Dragon, Ratchet & Clank, and Resistance. Insomniac branched out a little with games like Fuse for EA, and the originally Xbox One exclusive Sunset Overdrive – which itself laid the foundation for Spider-Man thanks to its interesting traversal mechanics.

Fans who don’t own a PS4 looking to play one of the most hyped games of the year will have to wait until April of next year to get their paws on it. Considering the iconic status of the original Final Fantasy 7 on the first PlayStation, that the highly anticipated remake would be exclusive to PS4, at least for …

The Witcher is on track to be Netflix’s most successful series debut

Netflix’s The Witcher was a lot of fun, wasn’t it? I enjoyed Cavill's stoic Geralt, and didn’t find the twisted timelines especially confusing, though I’m not as fond of the condensed stories and frankly awful dialogue writing. I think the show tried to do too much in to short a span. Muddying what could and rightly should have been a more profound, protracted experience. Still enjoyed the heck out of it though – and it seems that many, many others did.

PlayStation slogan changed ahead of possible reveal, giving earlier rumours some credibility

Earlier this week, I spotted a handful of PlayStation 5 rumour sourced from 4Chan, the infamous anonymous board. I didn’t pay them too much attention because well, they’re rumours from 4Chan – and in the run up to a new generation, anything that can’t be verified is probably nonsense. It may have been worth diving into a little. While it may still be a load of hogwash, there’s at least one bit of the supposed “leak” that’s on the money.

Ubisoft, developer and publisher of bad-ass tactical shooter Rainbow Six siege, is filing suit against a company they claim is selling services that disrupt their networks through DDoS. Though the suit names multiple people from across the globe, it was filed in a California court last week. The suit alleges that the defendants operate a site called SNG.ONE, which sells …

Sorry, but Valve is “absolutely not working on anything L4D related now”

Rumours about a new Left 4 Dead game have been circulating around parts of the internet for years. Turtle Rock and Valve’s quasi-AI directed games about killing zombies were an absolute blast to play co-operatively, and fans have been clamouring for a sequel. While games like World War Z have filled in that niche a little, they don’t quite compare to the thrills, spills and double kills from Left 4 Dead.
