Developers at Insomniac Games have begun talking about their experiences working on the game, with several employees highlighting regular 40-hour works and a managerial climate that encouraged people to avoid burnout while putting the new game together.

I think it's impossible to put down your controller once you finish Rift Apart for the first time, and not have a smile on your face. It's a game that's chicken soup for the soul, nourishing and positive content that's just incredibly wholesome to consume. Loud with its setpiece moments and surprisingly introspective with its emotional haymakers, all of its style and substance comes together to create not only a colourful, and wonderfully mad showcase for the PS5, but also the definitive Ratchet and Clank adventure for the next generation of gaming.

June's just around the corner, and in a month which includes a few heavyweight releases such as Scarlet Nexus, Necromunda: Hired Gun, and a chonky Final Fantasy VII upgrade, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart may be the biggest game of the lot. Quite possibly the biggest and most important game for the PS5, Ratchet & Clank's latest adventure looks to be shaping up nicely so far.

What began with a neat trailer featuring more Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart details, expanded into a full and dedicated State of Play last night as Sony dropped a whole lot more content for its upcoming June game. So far it looks like polished fun from the franchise: Great characters, plenty of whacky weapons, and a mission to save the galaxy from that Nefarious dude who is always up to the most evil of hijinks. Hijinks I say!

In the latest trailer for Ratch & Clank: Rift Apart, the identity of that mysterious lady Lombax who showed up in the first trailer from last year has finally been revealed as well. Her name is Rivet (perfect), and she just so happens to be voiced by best Commander Shepard, Jennifer Hale.

It’s a big year for Sony, now that the PlayStation 5 is out in the wild and its library is ready to be populated with a number of first-party games. 2020 kicked off with the likes of Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Astro’s Playroom, and Demon’s Souls showing off the potential of the PS5. In 2021, its power and that lightning-quick solid state drive take center-stage with the return of Ratchet & Clank.
