Call of Duty: WWII leaderboards and social space disabled to improve server connectivity

In a new blog post, Sledgehammer says that it’s temporarily making the HQ a solo space while it kicks its servers about for a bit. They’ll also be disabling leaderboards in the interim, though they do say that data is being recorded anyway. These changes have apparently fixed connectivity issues for now.

When PUBG does eventually hit a full release, it’s going to be in the form of a game which can be modded further by its community. News which makes creator Brendan “PlayerUnkown” Greene happy as he explained to CNET that he was hoping that fan efforts would help produce another PUBG success story. “I’ve said this before: I want to find the next PlayerUnknown,” Greene said.

So what gives? Why an extra pair of days that I presumably would have spent camped outside my PS4 without pants as I counted down the hours until launch? It’s so that the Destiny 2 servers don’t die in flames on launch day, as weekends are murderous on servers.

Every game in Destiny 2 will make use of peer-to-peer connections to connect players. That’s fine for PvE engagements in Destiny 2, but also means that PvP rounds are going to once again favour the host player who runs that match in comparison to the dedicated server setup which gives everyone a fair shot and equal footing in the Crucible. Bungie has a plan to even the playing field for Destiny 2 players using this setup.
