Dead or Alive (the fighting game, at least – not the beach paradise twaddle) is actually a pretty damned good game series, even if it has become known more for its overt sexualisation rather than its gameplay. I’ve always had a soft spot for Team Ninja’s Dead or Alive fighting game franchise, but not as many soft spots as the game’s female characters have had. For the next game, they’re toning the jiggly jubblies down.

Team Ninja has officially announced a sequel to their acclaimed action adventure Nioh at E3.

Team Ninja's Dead or Alive fighting game franchise is back! However, things are looking a little different this time around as Dead or Alive 6 introduces more realism and maturity into a franchise that was marred by some questionable "sexy" approaches.

A properly difficult yet exciting game, Nioh has intensity turned up to 11 so far and its about to go even further beyond for the diehard fans who want even more of a challenge.

Nioh is an incredibly gruelling game, and especially so when you go tow to toe with many of the game's boss battles. But one spell is changing that in favour if the players, and breaking the game.

It's time to get a little bit spiritual in Nioh. And fortunately, there's almost two dozen spirits available who'll lend you a living weapon hand against the Yokai.

Its been a rough couple of years for famed hardcore action game developer Team Ninja, but Nioh is a new start for the studio.

Thanks to fan feedback, developer Team Ninja felt that they were on the right track with fine-tuning the final release of Nioh.
