The Russian post apocalyptic survival title, Metro 2033, received a release date this morning, the Americans will be the first to experience it on the 16th of March with Europe (and hopefully us) getting our hands on it on the 19th of March. Apparently we will receive free Xbox Live themed avatar goodies if you pre-order the title, generally these …

New Metro 2033 Screenshots

By Gavin Mannion

THQ has just sent over a whole pile of new Metro 2033 screenshots for us to ogle over. The screens are showing an incredibly beautiful, in an ugly sort of way, world which looks like it will be a creepy sort of place to move around in. The screenshot with the dead soldier in the hallway is easily my favourite …

Early last week I received an email from a concerned reader who had gone out and purchased Saints Row 2 on the PS3 and then had attempted to download the DLC that goes with it only to find it AWOL. While I have to admit we don’t know if it was ever there he was pretty sure it was and …

Heaven & Hell…Darksiders is here!

A while ago I heard news of this game, and then, as rapidly excited as I had become it retreated to the shadows. I’m of course talking about THQ’s Darksiders: Wrath of War. It certainly is a novel idea to choose a protagonist that’s “War” itself, taking on both the forces of Heaven and Hell. Those are some big shoes …

THQ sues Activision Blizzard Over Baja Box Art

By Nick De Bruyne

THQ has filed a suit against Activision Blizzard because of similarities in the box art between the two games, of which THQ's has already been released for some time now. Both games are based around the same real world event, so you would think that a similar cover was like. One look at the comparison image though and you start to realise that it couldn't possibly have been coincidence that the artwork could be so similar, or could it? It seems to me like the cover art is nearly identical in terms of content and placement. THQ's suit says that Activision's "upcoming SCORE International Baja 1000 uses box art with artwork elements that are "virtually identical" to the former's packaging for Baja Edge of Control." Gamasutra reports that THQ have asked the courts to enjoin the game, saying the following: "If Activision is not enjoined from its impending release of the Activision Game bearing the [similar packaging art], THQ will suffer damages in an amount as yet unknown, but in excess of the jurisdictional minimum of this court and to be determined at trial," "THQ also would be entitled to Activision's profits from the sale of the Activision Game..." I fully agree. Activision Blizzard had already been contacted by THQ but then refused to change the artwork. If things go THQ's way, they could be looking to have a large sum of money paid to them in damages as well as as possibly taking certain profits from the sale of Activision Blizzards game.

Red Faction: Guerrilla 'Multiplayer Beta' HD No one can say that those explosions don’t look amazing! No, not amazing, beyond amazing, if as, as this video hints, everything is completely destructible it’s going to be an absolute explosion-fest playing this game, and that’s a good thing. It’s hard to tell from the video whether the frame rate will hold up …
