Local weekend box office report 1 - 3 February 2019: After a month-long rule, Aquaman has finally been beaten by a boy and his dragon.

It's the first of February, but thankfully we're spared from the flood of romance movies that usually come with the month of love. For this week at least.

A stylistic, over-the-top and sometimes silly political satire, but one that remains thought-provoking and highly entertaining. Fantastic acting performances, some uncharacteristic direction and remarkable editing make this an incredible film worth viewing.

The nominations for the granddaddy of the Hollywood awards season is here, as Roma leads the list with 9 nominations followed hotly by A Star is Born, Vice, and Black Panther.
