It’s Monday! You’ve barely survived and the last thing you need right now is a gibbering maniac going on about a handful of news stories on a slow day…right? WRONG! Because a Darryn a day keeps the sanity away! Here’s today’s dose of In Other News, where I talk Terminator, Destiny and lament about how SnapChat has undone years of …

Can a game set in the post nuclear apocalypse of the future that the films are trying to avoid, be the salvation that fans are looking for? I’m…not exactly sold on what I’ve seen so far. While a first-person shooter with stealth, a few role-playing mechanics and a crafting system should sound like a dream Terminator game, developer Teyon’s (You may remember them from that Rambo game which was uh something to say the least) stab at the Skynet future looks passable at best. There are still those who are willing to get up at the crack of dusk and boot up their console to find him for you. People who’ll risk digital life and limb to let you know if Xur is selling a treasure or rubbish. I just so happen to be one of those people. Maybe you’re stuck at work and can only log in later tonight. In that case: Where is Xur?

The next game throwing its candy into the trick or treat bag? None other than Anthem, with a shock announcement that it has some new content to share. Kind of. Called Season of the Skulls, this event is described by Bioware as “a themed, season-long event that offers unique rewards and challenges for its duration”. So skins and other cosmetics, I guess.

Oh hey, looks like The Outer Worlds will have PS4 Pro enhancements after all

By Geoffrey Tim

The Outer Worlds, the upcoming Fallout-esque RPG from developer Obsidian will hit consoles and PC on October 25. As a wholly single-player adventure RPG, it’s something that got my interest piqued. Yesterday, reports swirled around the internet that the game would be enhanced on the Xbox One X, but not feature similar mid-gen upgrades on the PlayStation 4. Those reports were false.
