Last night’s Resident Evil Showcase wasn’t just about the next chapter in the main series of games. Resident Evil Re:Verse was announced, and it’ll be a mutliplayer shooter that allows you to take to the arena as one of several characters from the franchise as you blast each other to pieces. No really, this is actually happening.

Resident Evil Village, the eighth game in the main event series of zombies and corporate conspiracies, will officially launch on May 7, 2021. Hey that’s this year! Revealed during the Resident Evil Showcase digital event, the release date also came with a pleasant bonus surprise, as the game will have a large rollout on current and last-gen systems.

There’s a certain joy to be found in Hitman and its sequels, within those failed runs though, learning experiences which players should savour and use to eventually become stealthy forces of nature that can move unseen through the shadows.

Team Ninja’s brand as of late has been games with feudal fun and a swimming pool of blood. With Nioh 2 Complete Edition on PC and PS5 getting ready to be shipped out and a remaster of the first game on the way, the studio is looking towards the future and it certainly sounds like it’s ready to pack its samurai swords away as it gets to work on its next game. Long story short, don’t expect to see Nioh 3 anytime soon.

Xbox fans expecting to see a similar treatment through the Game Pass service were in for a ravishing Rick Rude awakening yesterday. The mild drama kicked off when a comment on the Xbox Instagram account claimed that Fall Guys would be coming to Game Pass. Chatter started circulating, but Fall Guys publisher Devolver Digital quickly pounced on those rumours and tweeted “that's incorrect”. In another tweet, Devolver confirmed that “there are no plans for Fall Guys to come to any form of Gamepass”.

Hitman 3 is full of surprises beneath its familiar systems. It manages to break out of its own sandbox without disrupting its formula too much, ending on a subtle note that brings the world of assassination saga to a satisfying end.  

By now, everyone’s familiar with Cyberpunk 2077’s less than ideal launch. Announced in 2012 and given the fancy cinematic trailer reveal a year later, Cyberpunk 2077 doesn’t exactly look or feel like a game that spent eight years in development. According to a new report by Bloomberg, that’s because development didn’t kick off properly until 2016.

There are still those who are willing to get up at the crack of dusk and boot up their console to find him for you. People who’ll risk digital life and limb to let you know if Xur is selling a treasure or rubbish. I just so happen to be one of those people.
