The master race have often used the game Battlefield 4 to showcase how much superior the PC is as a gaming platform compared to the consoles that the filthy casuals use.
Previously we could only really get the massive 64 player battles going on the PC however with the release of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 that has all changed. Both consoles now offer the same experience as the PC except maybe with less lag, less glitching and more enjoyment in general.
This is being shown in the official stats that now show that the PlayStation 4 team has overtaken PC gamers in daily connections.
As you can see from the graph above, stolen from bf4central, the PC was by far the most dominant platform before the PS4 was released however it didn’t take long for the lines to start intersecting.
And pretty much when Hardline was announced the PlayStation 4 overtook the PC and is hasn’t looked back since.
The Xbox One graph has been sitting below all the other platforms but don’t be surprised to see that change when the Xbox One is officially released in new territories next month. I’ve been playing some BF4 on the Xbox One recently and it is by far the most fun I’ve had in Battlefield in quite some time. But take that with a pinch of salt as I haven’t played it on the PS4. It’s more fun than the PC version though.
Is this a sign that shooters are losing their appeal on the PC or is the dodgy code of the PC version of Battlefield 4 the real problem here?

If I have to beg and plead with Origin and my PC to allow me to play BF4, at the end of the day it’s not really worth it. I had to install a new version of the browser plugin every other day, and I’d still get booted by punkbuster, because apparently paying customers are punks in this day and age.

Have BF4 and the premium on PC, havent had much problems since around April, the game may not be completely fixed, but it runs fine, plus the console version feels slow compared to the K&M

I’ve been playing on the PS4 since launch and everything is steadily improving. I think the PC version is better though. I’d like to see the BF3 figures for the same timeframe. I believe that some of the PC and PS3 guys went back to the more stable BF3 after they got burned by the release of BF4.

Well, it was a lot wider before the PS4 and Xbox One were released. Right now the consoles are at High settings while they were only Low on the 360 and PS3.

you queue up to play Competitive mode (not the casual one where armour and defuse kits are free) similar to how you queue up for games in dota2, actually exactly the same.Then it ranks you after you win 10 matches.Your rank affects what players you are teamed up with and play against and you gain ranks or lose depending on the ranks of players you win/lose against, similar to starcraft 2 ranking system but a little bit more vague. It works very well and puts you only against low ping SA players at peak game times in south africa, early morning and midday there aren’t enough players though
It is frustrating and rewarding as hell 😉

I’m not surprised cause this game runs like poo on the pc now. I’m running r9 280x and 2560×1440 and I could do almost 100-120fps+ on high now not even 90 and sometimes as low as 40 or lower

I gave up playing first person shooters on my gaming PC. BF3 was my final purchase for PC. The wallhackers and aimbotters simply ruined it. I now play BF4 on the PS4 while my SLi gaming PC sits dormant, gathering dust.

They probably moved on to better shooters to be honest, though there’s still plenty of players and servers thankfully. Right now there’s 15K on PC, butthe big PC shooters are free to play stuff like crossfire or CS:GO which currently has 211K players online. I can see why. It’s a lot easier on the PS4 or XBOX One to play due to auto aim that is built into console games.
The Net code that’s used on the PC version really does need another fix. The one it just got made a noticeable difference but if you’re ping is higher then 70-80 you are going to get messed up by players that have 30-40 ping.
There is really a noticeable difference already if you have a 80 ping vs someone with a 40ping.
That’s why you always want to join a server that pings no higher then 70ms tops 80ms because then you need to take into factor the monitor your using and your response time from you’re system.
You will always tend to find the better players have a lower ping. Or have been playing for a long time.
The one thing I know is that once you play on PC you can’t go to a console. Having a mouse and keyboard is the only way to play.

What this actually shows is how much shooters like battlefield series have been dumbed down to console level.
You know why console version that does not have shitty graphics(PS4) is popular? It’s because there is no need to aim, as soon as you pull the “aim” button, aim assist snaps your aim onto the closest enemy to center of crosshair… It’s literally easy mode; apparently aiming skill isn’t important in a FPS game.

Quality not quantity, us PC players do not accept errors on games, we expect the best of the best.
BF4 came out with a lot of bugs and errors, we do not have time to deal with it, we have many other options in this platform. We won’t get stuck in a game with a lot of mistakes. Console gamers don’t know anything about quality gaming. They take whatever is given to them in the mouth.
