I detest teaser trailer for trailers. On the ladder of things I hate, they’re sandwiched somewhere biting the inside of my cheek and getting cold-called by telemarketers. But damn it, this is Star Wars, so I’m sure as hell making an exception here!
Yesterday Disney unveiled the film’s incredible new poster (shown up top) crammed with all sorts of cool details (what’s that Death Star-like construction on the top right?), and in anticipation of the third full trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens being released some time later this evening, they’ve also unveiled three cool new teasers that combined give us about 48 seconds of footage!
Check them out below!
And if that leaves you hankering for more, here’s the official word as to when to expect that new full trailer:
The trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens will debut on ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” on Monday, October 19, during halftime of the National Football League (NFL) game between the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles in Philadelphia. The game starts at 5:15 p.m. PDT/8:15 p.m. EDT.
In case you were wondering, that’s approximately 02:15 this evening, so check back here first thing tomorrow morning for the real deal!
Star Wars: The Force Awakens stars Mark Hamill (though he is yet to make an appearance on any of the promotional material), Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Max Von Sydow. It is directed by JJ Abram, who also co-scripted with Star Wars veteran Lawrence Kasdan. It is scheduled for release on December 18, 2015.

Is that a new Death Star in the top right of the poster?

Certainly seems to be the case. Unless HAL 9000 had sex with a giant pokeball

Was actually thinking that middle part, with the large looking ‘eye’, reminds me a lot of the ‘face’ of the tripod walkers from War of the Worlds. Now that could be an interesting cross-movie… 😉

3rd Times the charm. The rebels might have blown up the other 2, but the empire is not a bunch of quitters.

Exactly. No-one can accuse them of giving up. 🙂
If the Rebels have to fly down a trench-like passageway to blow it up again, I’m walking out! 😉 (probably not… but I’ll protest strongly). 🙂
