You’ve seen the new poster and the new teasers, and really, you don’t need any more obstacles standing between yourself and the new and final full trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, so I am just going to shut up now and let you get to it!

My trousers suddenly feel a little damp…

That’s a whole lot of awesome to take in, and I will be doing a detailed trailer breakdown tomorrow afternoon, but for now there are several highlights to talk about. We hear bad guy Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) speak for the first time and admit his, and his Knights of Ren’s obsession with Vader; we now have confirmation that the crashed TIE-Fighter with the red path was indeed piloted by ex-Stormtrooper Finn (John Boyega), who is also the person facing Kylo Ren in that snowy forest; it seems that what Luke, Han and Leia did to overthrow the Emperor have become almost myth in the last 30 years; and then there are all those incredible aerial dogfights that have left me now needing to change my underwear one more time!

And we still haven’t seen Luke Skywalker yet! Or have we…

Star Wars: The Force Awakens stars Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Max Von Sydow. It is directed by JJ Abrams, who also co-scripted with Star Wars veteran Lawrence Kasdan. It is scheduled for release locally on December 16, 2015 (and bookings are already open!).

Surely the person with the robotic hand feeling up R2D2 is Luke? 0_O

      Yes let it be,
On a side note if that’s your definition of being felt up, you need to get out more 😛

Hence my “Or have we…”. It certainly looks that way at the moment, but we don’t know for sure yet

Actually it has been established by the previous trailer.

It is. Has been 100% established in the previous trailer.

No it hasn’t been officially established, but I would say it’s 99% certain. We’ve never actually officially “seen” Luke in any of the trailers (the previous trailer had the exact same cloaked shot as this one) and the voiceover you hear, while it is Luke, is actually from Return of the Jedi, except for a few words added on at the end.

This has been analyzed to death but the basic fact is that the voiceover even though it is from Return is designed to let us know that Luke has a child (this is pure speculation as the debate goes that he never mentions it is his child only that the force is strong within his bloodline). However the images correponds to what he says. My father has it (image of Vaders mask), I have it (robed man with robotic hand next to R2) , My sister has it (shows someone giving Vaders saber to someone else (everyone assuming Leia).

Now even if you argue against the evidence that even though we never see his face we clearly see a robotic hand and his personal astromech making it highly likely that he is Luke we can also just use the pictures of him on set with the same cloak on to conclude it is him.

But even if you are 100% not convinced maybe this will help.
Mark Hamil himself confirmed it 3 days ago at the Anaheim convention.

You do know that we’re sorta agreeing on this, right? 😀 I certainly think it’s Luke, it’s just that it hasn’t been OFFICIALLY established yet.

Semantics, really. Which is why I said 99%

True but the fact that Mark confirmed it means it is now 100%.

Just wanna get it 100% out there cause as far as things go we may not see him in the movie till near the very end based on well speculated theory.

The musical cues in this trailer are fantastic. John Williams sounds like he is on his best form going by this trailer. We see Leia upset, crying and little of Luke. Is he killed off in the 1st act? My bet is yes!

Nah, I think Luke is the Macguffin in this piece. They’re going to need to find him to help defeat what’s coming.
