Sony really wants you to buy PlayStation Plus

Those of you who already subscribe to PlayStation Plus already know what incredible value the service offers. In addition to the wealth of free games, you also get cloud storage, beta access and ludicrous discounts on already discounted games.

On the PlayStation 4, it’ll also be required to access online multiplayer, functioning much the same way that Xbox Live does – which takes a little arm-twisting, considering it’s been a free service up till now. This video is that arm-twisting.

PlayStation Plus is fantastic, but I just don’t think it’s going to be as great a value proposition o the PS4. We’ve been spoilt with free AAA games soon after release on the PS3 and Vita, but I think in the next gen we’ll mostly be getting smaller games and indie titles for quite some time. Not that that’s a bad thing, mind you.

If you have a Sony system, have internet and don’t already subscribe to PlayStation Plus, you might need to have your head read.

Editor. I'm old, grumpy and more than just a little cynical. One day, I found myself in possession of a NES, and a copy of Super Mario Bros 3. It was that game that made me realise that games were more than just toys to idly while away time - they were capable of being masterpieces. I'm here now, looking for more of those masterpieces.
