Ubisoft is tag teaming with Castlevania producer Adi Shankar to resurrect the cult favourite game, creating a multiverse of Ubisoft projects that will kick off with Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Vibe.

Written/produced by veteran comic book writer Warren Ellis, Netflix's animated adaptation of the classic Castlevania video game franchise was one of the biggest breakout hits of last year. Now we have our first look at the upcoming 8-episode second season with a bloody, action-packed first trailer.

With a deck stacked against it in a genre that produces more turds than diamonds, producer Adi Shankar was talking big about Netflix’s stab at Konami’s Dracula mythos when Castlevania was first announced as an upcoming animated series. This wasn’t just going to be a quick spin-off with a few flashy fight scenes, but rather the best damn R-rated vampire-slaying adaptation ever made. Shankar wasn't lying.

Over the last decade, Assassin’s Creed has been more than just a video game series. Trendy clothing, light novels and even a well-received film managed to spin out of Ubisoft’s premiere franchise in leap of faithing into conveniently placed haystacks dotted around various locales throughout history. So what medium is left for Assassin’s Creed to shove a small wrist-blade into? Anime, that’s what.

Judge Dredd has not exactly had a lot of good fortune in getting movie adaptations. That's not going to stop them trying though, only they might look at doing it animated this time round.
