New Bayonetta posters play on her ample assets

By Gavin Mannion

If it wasn’t for Famitsu magazine giving Bayonetta a full 100% review rating I would be worried about this game as all the advertising has been based around her blatant good looks and sexuality. Normally that is a sign of a sub standard game but it’s really pleasing to know that we are going to be visually pleased while playing …

Sony Nazi Ads “Fake”

By Geoffrey Tim
October 2, 2009

Remember those intriguingly bizarre, yet wholly inappropriate Chilean Nazi Sony adverts we posted about recently? Turns out they’re fake. Well, not fake in that they’re counterfeit, but fake in that they were never approved by Sony, and were in fact a mock ad campaign created by BBDO Chile, who then – like complete jackasses – submitted them to creative competitions …

Sony fails advertising 101 – Yes again

By Gavin Mannion

Sony’s ads have always intrigued me because despite the one or two good ads they manage to endorse they normally approve hundreds of the most bizarre, outlandish or just plain stupid adverts. Step forward exhibit Z3254, As you can see on the right we have a healthy young gamer which pretty much represents the PlayStations core target market. On the …

Invasive advertising invades Wipeout HD on the PS3 – Updated

By Gavin Mannion

If you have an IQ of over 80 and know anything about marketing then I strongly suggest heading down to Sony’s head offices and insisting they hire you as once again they have shot themselves in the proverbial foot. If you are a Wipeout fan you would have noticed that there is a new patch out that ads a new …

Sony advertising just can’t catch a break

By Gavin Mannion

So after years of infuriatingly pointless TV adverts Sony decided to go with the standard advertising platform for Killzone 2. Splash some gameplay footage and cut scenes across the TV and then plaster every non-moving structure with the box art of your game so that it becomes embedded in people’s skulls. Apparently though the box art of Killzone 2, which …

By Nick De Bruyne

This video is a shining example of why Playstation 3 owners can start to get really excited about all of the features that Home is promising to deliver on. As stated previously be Sony, Home’s main source of revenue will come down to advertising and to be honest, as long as it isn’t overblown and helps provide a better service …

New PSP Advert proves that Sony has woken up

By Nick De Bruyne

Sony have become quite famous for their strange and sometimes just plain twisted advertisements. This latest advert for the PSP is actually quite magical and does a wonderful job of showing how much entertainment can be packed into the handheld device. While it's all very pretty and the music is catchy, that tune does bare a scary (as in 95% the same) resemblance to the tune "He's got the whole world in his hands". Whether or not any religious factions would care to make a fuss about it is a different story altogether. Look on the bright side though, the advert is nice and it doesn't involve naked people with thumbs in strange places!

Why are Sony not advertising?

By Gavin Mannion
November 13, 2008

Yes I know this sounds odd coming from me since I have always complained about Sony’s advertising but it has started to become obvious that Sony are just not interested in really advertising their software. Last week in the US Resistance 2 and Gears 2 were both released and while Gears had TV spots, midnight launches and completely over the …
