Hitman 3 won’t have any post-launch levels dropped into Agent 47’s world of assassination, but fret not! There’ll be plenty of new challenging content to power through in the months to come.

After less than a week of being on store shelves, IO Interactive’s final chapter in the World of Assassination trilogy is proving to be a smash hit with players. Who would have thought that there would be so many travel-starved homicidal maniacs out there? Self-published and independtly developed, Hitman 3 has recouped all of its development costs, and from this point on, every new sale just means extra cash in IO’s pocket.

Multiplayer has been marked for execution, but what remains will create a stronger single-player experience when Hitman 3 arrives in January 2021.

IO Interactive is going back to a “more mature, serious, darker” tone for Hitman 3 after the previous game featured more...wacky elements.

During last night’s PlayStation 5 showcase, IO Interactive lifted the veil off of the third installment, which won’t only see Agent 47 engage in his usual lethal business. It’ll be the final chapter in the gigantic saga that the developer has been working on for many a year now.

Hitman 2 more than delivered on its promise to turn players into the ultimate killing machine. The November roadmap may still have a lot of content on the way, but it’ll be done by a smaller dedicated crew as IO Interactive ramps up development on Hitman 3.
