Does the idea of playing a strategy game on PC make you retch more than me when I’m exposed to custard? Well good news! Because Frostpunk is coming to PS4 and Xbox One.

For The Division 2, Ubisoft’s development team Massive is shifting states and taking its new American civil war to the political heart of that nation: Washington DC. There’s something infinitely more interesting about exploring the capitol, from its many landmarks to its more open design that makes for a fresher map.

For their slice of a world where mankind has fallen to ruin, Ubisoft wanted to do something different, moving away from the radiation-scorched environments of every other game set in a wasteland and settling for something more colourful instead. Not just a departure from the genre norm, there’s some actual science in Far Cry New Dawn’s setting, that makes for a believable atmosphere.

It has been 17 years since the bombs fell. Almost two decades of war and ruin, that has led to the world descending into chaos as a new status quo has risen up in the ashes of mutually assured destruction. Welcome, to Far Cry New Dawn.

It wasn’t for everyone, but I adored Far Cry 5. Ubisoft kept in much of its established Ubiformula, but trimmed it down and simplified everything to make for a smoother, more organic experience. The story of cultists in the gorgeous Montana setting was interspersed with goofy side missions that were a blast to play. Speaking of blasts….

Something I remain resolutely firm over, is the fact that the 1990s had the best villains spread across various animated series. From Batman to Mighty Max, ReBoot to X-Men, we were swimming in a golden age of talent and characterisation that has been unsurpassed since then. Don't believe me? While the majority of Far Cry 5 may focus on a more sombre and reserved tale of religion and cults of personality, its upcoming DLC looks ready to take the series in a much weirder direction that takes place in an apocalypse ravaged by zombies, a flashback to the Vietnam War maaaan and even setting foot on Mars.

Battlefield 1 received its final bit of DLC recently. Called Apocalypse, the extra content added new assignments along with the new Afflictions specialisations. It also unintentionally added a tonne of stutter to the game, making it an unpleasurable experience for most players.
