Biomutant juggles a ton of balls at any given time, and while it might not be able to keep all of them in the air, it's still an ambitious open-world adventure that's hard to not fall in love with. Maybe it's coming at the right time as well, as its generally laid-back approach to storytelling, wonderfully silly crafting, and deep character customization more than makes up for the rough combat that could do with some more polish.
Its been four years since Biomutant was first announced, popping up in a trailer that looked very very alright if we're being honest. Fast forward to the hell-year that is 2021, and the game actually looks…really good!
Remember Biomutant? Me neither to be honest, but I after I did some genuine digging this morning I realised that this game should have been on my radar back when it was announced in 2017 by publisher THQ Nordic. The elevator pitch for the game already has me sold, as it functions like a furry version of Bayonetta 3 with a heaping dollop of RPG thrown into the mix for good measure.
