Like any RPG starring nigh-unkillable zombie super-soldiers who protect a giant golf ball in the sky, Destiny 2 is all about power and the grind to increase your status in a hostile universe. Now that Beyond Light has kicked off and I’ve spent actual cash on its Season of the Hunt golden ticket so that I can unlock some bitchin’ gear, I’ve got a daily routine of grabbing bounties, heading to my favourite lost sectors and mowing down enemies in pursuit of that locked loot.

The Hive are up to their tricks again, the dead walk the lunar surface once again and a buttload of new changes are on the way as Destiny 2 doubles down on its RPG experience more than ever before. Here’s a trailer for the October 1 launch, to get you in the mood for descending into a pit of unspeakable horror that defies human logic and wants to rip your soul apart with arcane rituals.

With just a mere two weeks to go until Shadowkeep launches, Bungie is looking to move beyond the Forsaken era and its tale of revenge, and settle down for a year of spooky action that appeals to the hardest of core fans.

Shadowkeep may be arriving in September for Destiny 2, but August is going to be a heck of a warm-up until then thanks to the retuned Solstice of Heroes.

Destiny 2: Forsaken's Iron Banner event currently has some bounties which are easy enough to earn, while others have silly requirements that can only be met by players who jump into the Crucible and nothing else for a solid week. Bungie wants to change that.

Lord Saladin’s regular festival of kills for skills is back, and once again the tournament of Iron Lords has been tweaked and modified to be leaner, meaner and faster in its application of power and cunning in th era of Destiny 2: Forsaken.

One of the big new features in Destiny 2: Forsaken, is a bit of nostalgia. Specifically a throwback to Destiny 1’s infamous bounties from the House of Wolves expansion, that tasked players with hunting down some of the most wanted Fallen in the solar system after their rebellion against Queen Mara Sov of the Awoken. In Forsaken, that idea has been expanded on and reworked as players now have plenty of reasons to revisit Lost Sectors.
