Resident Evil: Village is equal parts terrifying and empowering. It’s haunting, tense, and filled with all kinds of gruesome action you’ll only ever see in a franchise that revels in its campy nature. Fans of the franchise will no doubt pick up on its familiar beats, but that’s for the best as it strikes a happy balance between fresh and familiar.

Or “Summer” if you live in the Northern hemisphere. I see you Capcom, don’t make me add your name to the “Uses Seasons Instead of Quarters” list.

2020 may have been a terrible year for…well, everyone, but for the games industry it was one of the best trips around the sun ever recorded. With people stuck at home and desperate for entertainment, video games proved to be a perfect respite. Over on Metacritic, the review aggregation website had a look at which game publishers were the most critically successful and went through the entire 2020 library of games to find the biggest winners of the year.

The upcoming big-screen reboot of the video game adaptation franchise is titled Resident Evil: Welcome to the Jungle and will see director Johnnes Robers will be pulling several key elements straight from the original games.
