Cerebro has detected a new Omega-level mutant whose powers are starting to go haywire, and certain elements want to catch and weaponise her. Fortunately, Old Man Logan is off to rescue her. Unfortunately, Deadpool is also on the case.

Marvel had another Secret Wars event back in 2015 that was built on the back of the threat of universal extinction. Only the iron will of Doctor Doom could save the Marvel omniverse, albeit at the cost of a man who preferred to rule in heaven rather than serve in hell as he created Battleworld. Sounds epic, right? Imagine the Secret Wars series in video game form then, because Marvel might have plans for the property.

I’ve been trying to make some sense all morning of the current state of Marvel comics, following the weekend reveal of 52 new covers (sort of rings a bell) that will chart the direction of the Marvel Universe in the wake of Secret Empire and the Legacy mini-series that aims to re-establish the status quo of several familiar icons. All I see is creative bankruptcy.
