Next week’s Marvel’s Avengers is adding plenty of upgrades to the Crystal Dynamics-developed game, and while a sweeping overhaul that actually makes it fun to play isn’t currently on the list, a few admittedly neat features are.
Marvel’s Avengers does have the potential to be fun, but turning a burly Gamma-powered bouncer into one of Earth’s mightiest mortals requires a heck of a lot of grinding to get to a point where that character is a true powerhouse. That journey towards the top of the superhero food chain is going to take even longer next week when next-gen upgrades and a new patch arrive in Avengers, the messaging of which was kind of murky according to developer Crystal Dynamics.

The original archer, Clint Barton AKA Other Hawkeye, is still being added to the game and for the tens of fans still playing Avengers, they won’t have long to wait. Alongside the promised next-gen enhancements for Xbox Series X and PS5, Barton will drop in Marvel’s Avengers on March 18.
Here’s the fun fact: Marvel’s Avengers was actually the highest-selling game on PlayStation in September, unseating the latest iteration of NBA 2K from a position that it had claimed numerous other times over the years. While the game was a top-seller in an industry that has seen numbers go through the roof now that everyone’s staying at home, Avengers still didn’t bring in as much as publisher Square Enix was hoping for. At least Final Fantasy 7 Remake saved Square’s butt this year.
