Imagine a universe where the trinity of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman were even more…wholesome. Because that’s the idea that’ll be present in the upcoming JLA/Young Animal: Milk Wars event. Overseen by Gerard Way, the brief event will consist of five one-shots that features the icons taking on RetCo, a corporation that spans across the multiverse and repackages realities to better suit the tastes of their audiences who are watching. RetCo does just that with the trinity of heroes, resulting in the most Americana of reimaginings: Superman is now Milkman-Man, Batman has become the oprhan-adopting padre known as Father Bruce and Wonder Woman has been reduced to the ideal American housewife straight out of the Stepford Wives. Horrifying stuff.

The Batman Who Laughs, written by James Tynion IV and illustrated by Riley Rossmo, may be the darkest of those knights. A caped crusader who was born from an age-old question: Why doesn’t Batman just kill the Joker?
