After a couple of missed opportunities, Cabin in the Woods writer/director and Daredevil showrunner Drew Goddard is finally getting his big blockbuster break as he has been tapped to write and direct Deadpool spinoff X-Force.

Would Deadpool 2 stick to chalk-white skin and a single shade of black around an eye for when Zazie Beetz got into character as Domino? Kind of! But not exactly as Deadpool himself tweeted a first look at Beetz suited up, once again poking fun at the legendary Burt Reynolds pin-up that the first Deadpool movie aped in turn.

Deadpool 2, or Deuxpool as I’m calling it, has the ball in its court then as Reynolds straps back into the tightest of red spandex, while director David “John Wick” Leitch takes over from Tim Miller. That’s a big change in tonal direction, as Miller’s style was that of a more visual nature while Leitch rose to fame as the co-director of John Wick and its amazingly grounded action scenes. It’s that very pedigree, that helped Leitch land a job directing the sequel.

That gap in filming a new season of Atlanta has given Glover’s co-star Zazie Beetz the opening to star in Deadpool 2. Sounds kind of lucky right? Well that’s apt, as Beetz will be suiting up as lucktastic mutant Domino in the sequel to the first film that starred Ryan Reynolds as a foul-mouthed mercenary who happened to have a face that resembled a KFC Zinger wing meal that had been abused.
