EA Still Closing Down Online Servers

By Nick De Bruyne

EA have announced that they will be closing down even more of their online servers. Almost all of the games having their servers closed down are pretty old ones that no one is really playing, well I assume that that's why is closing them. The list includes a bunch of titles such as the Godfather for PS3 and Xbox 360 as well as Mercenaries 2 for PC, Lord of the Rings: Conquest for Xbox 360 and PS3 as well as Army of Two in Asia and for PS3 only. You can see all of them here . I guess that this all makes a lot of sense, you can't keep running these servers forever, and especially not if there are only a handful of people ever using them. When are Microsoft and Activision going to be shutting down the servers for Halo 3 and Modern Warfare 2? I hear that nobody plays those games anymore.

Green has updated his Twitter account saying “Fact checking my fact check: Dead Space 2 PC is just “Under Consideration.” DOH I’m just an excitable PC dork. Should I start the petition” Earlier when told about the SKU being “under consideration” he tweeted that the news “Definitely clashes …

Dante's Inferno Arriving With Mixed Reviews

By Nick De Bruyne
February 4, 2010
in :  Gaming

Thanks to all of EA’s marketing stunts that include crazy sin-based promo items involving cheques for lots of money and expensive superbowl advertising fiascos, you have most probably already heard of Dante’s Inferno. The biggest thing that I have heard about the game through and through is that the game is a blatant, unashamed rip-off of God of War, in …

The video above this text is the Dante’s Inferno advert that is going to be shown during the Superbowl. If you don’t know what that means, then all you need to know is that the Superbowl has over 100 million live viewers every year, which means that this 30 second advert is setting EA back a cool 3 million US …

Way back in June of last year, I posted up this article about a rumour that Criterion were working on a new Need for Speed game. The rumour has proven to be completely true as we have now gotten our hands on some more information about the game, but some concept art that was used in a presentation with EA …

Mass Effect 2 is out in the US (and garnering some pretty damned exceptional reviews), but the launch has been mired by an issue involving the redemption of collector’s edition and promotional DLC codes. We’re only getting the game on Friday (Or Monday, if you’ve ordered the Collector’s Edition…delays suck!), but at least you won’t have to endure the …

2 for You ‘cos 1 Won’t Do : Medal of Honor Running on 2 Engines

By Geoffrey Tim

EA is hoping to claw the shooter genre back from Activision. That’s going to be no mean feat, considering Modern Warfare 2 performance. The new Medal of honour, with its large fuzzy bearded man ‘o steel is certainly looking good – and one reason for that is that – like a crazy mechanic from Boksburg – EA have shoved 2 …
