One of the biggest surprises of E3's second day was easily the reveal of a Guardians of the Galaxy game at the Square Enix Presents showcase, which looked nothing like the publisher's infamously-empty Marvel's Avengers. Whereas that game starring Marvel's A-team felt like it was checking boxes on a live to-do list, Guardians of the Galaxy is hitting PC and consoles later this year as a dedicated single-player game.

We don’t know an awful lot about Square Enix and Eidos Montreal/Crystal Dynamics’ new Avengers game. We know that it’s being made with Marvel, who’re usually quite pedantic about quality, so it’s likely it’ll be a great experience. Since its announcement though, there have been rumours that Th Avengers will be a live-service game, something akin to Destiny or The Division. Given that Anthem was basically a game about being a team of Iron Man wannabees, it might be an even better comparison.
