In a big turnaround, it seems like Sony may finally be ready to look beyond their own big box with the release of Horizon: Zero Dawn on PC.

The biggest spanner ever thrown into Valve’s dominance of the PC gaming market, Epic’s arrival has been both hailed as the best thing ever and criticised for a variety of reasons along the way. Has it been a profitable move for Epic so far then? Hell yeah.

With Xmas around the corner, the Epic Games Store is feeling especially festive as they kick off their biggest reason yet to setup an account on that digital distribution front. Twelve days! Twelve games! Each one free! Not a bad deal at all I reckon. The first such game which’ll be up for grabs is one that serves as answer to a question that has dogged mankind for eons: Pacific Rim but what if it was chess?

The Epic Games Store has been an overnight revolution, promising developers a larger slice of the revenue pie and attracting consumers with a selection of exclusive and free games. It hasn’t been without some criticism though, as some people reckon that Epic has outright stolen business from Steam. There’s a debate that’s not only worth having over the two platforms, but one that should be reset as well.

John Wick Hex is a sharp-dressed shooter, a tactical dog eat dog shooter that offers an unforgiving challenge with smart action and an authentic layer of style.

The stylish strategy shooter is out in just a few weeks and you should be incredibly excited for that.

I know, I know, the Epic Game Store is an evil capitalist construct out to ruin video games, but the place does dish out a bunch of video games for free on the regular, letting you build up a healthy library all for the reasonable cost of not a damned thing. I know that in itself grates some people, with the accusation that Epic is buying customers, and that may be true, but let me repeat: free games.

Borderlands 3 is out, and while the game has a myriad of problems including sometimes iffy performance on PC and consoles (don’t even try playing split-screen yet), it’s undeniably fun. There are great quality of life improvements, the gunplay is frankly phenomenal and the game has more already outdated memes and pop culture references stuffed into it than 9gag.
