Fortnite: Battle Royale has its eyes on more than just the usual trinity of platforms, as developer Epic Games have announced that they’ll be porting their full 100-player experience to iOS and Android mobile devices. Presumably with some kind of sorcery.

Fortnite's new mode is called Teams of 20, and as its name suggests, it’ll open the island to five teams of twenty players each. It’s somewhere between one of the previous timed events that saw 50v50, and the usual squad mode of 4 players on each team.

Fortnite’s got a huge playerbase, but most of the people playing it are running around shooting each other in the game’s free Battle Royale mode. The player and developer focus on that has led to those who’ve invested in the paid, co-operative PvE Save the World Campaign a little neglected. It looks like Epic’s trying to change that in one way at least. There’s a great big sale on the game on all three platforms, letting players snap up the paid game for half price

Fortnite has amassed a massive player-base. And now Epic is taking all the right steps to ensure it carries on growing with a roadmap of massive improvements.

Earlier this month, Epic Games suggested that while they’d continue to work on their MOBA, Paragon, many of its development staff had been moved over to support the infinitely more successful Fortnite. that was not quite accurate.

After almost six years, Fortnite has finally hammered down a release date: July 25. If you’re chomping at some leftover grey matter to get in, Steam Early Access will give you a headstart on July 21, with the game rockin’ some free-to-play content after that on PC, Mac, PS4 and Xbox One.
