The PlayStation Store’s refund policy has been updated for easier refunds

One of the things that makes Steam such a nice place to buy games is its very generous refund policy. If you’ve bought a game, given it a bit of a while and not enjoyed it at all, you can request a full refund – provided you do so within fourteen days and haven’t played said game for more than two hours. If the game is a broken mess, you can get a refund outside of those terms. It’s really quite consumer friendly, and a far cry from the sort of refund policies you’d find on PlayStation. EA is under criminal investigation in Belgium for refusing to remove FIFA’s loot boxes

The Belgian authorities have concluded that loot boxes in games are akin to gambling, and have made their inclusion in games illegal. EA has refused to remove FIFA's lootboxes, and could be under criminal investigation in the country as a result.

EA is not having a good month. On top of the unfolding Star Wars: Battlefront II loot box brouhaha and a quick about-turn on Need For Speed’s very similar system of grinding for progress, it looks like FIFA 18 players also have a bone to pick with the publisher. Fans of the footie sim have long been annoyed with the Weekend League in FIFA 18, a torturous commitment to earning sweet digital prizes that requires a silly amount of time to be invested in the mode.
