Fortnite, the ultra-popular third person cartoon shooter is a game of two communities. While most of the game’s player base is made up of those playing the entirely free Battle Royale Mode, there’s a second community of players who prefer the co-operative, PvE Save the World campaign. And as the player numbers skew towards Battle Royale, so does the game’s development. That’s natural, and expected – but those who’ve payed for early access to the Save the World campaign are starting to feel like second-class citizens.

Fortnite has amassed a massive player-base. And now Epic is taking all the right steps to ensure it carries on growing with a roadmap of massive improvements.

Earlier this month, Epic Games suggested that while they’d continue to work on their MOBA, Paragon, many of its development staff had been moved over to support the infinitely more successful Fortnite. that was not quite accurate.

Constantly updating, the next upgrade for Fortnite: Battle Royale aims to make the world you’re exploring and murdering in a little bit more interesting.

Fortnite’s Battle Royale may have shamelessly copied…well, just about everything about PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (which itself is a video game version of Battle Royale), but it’s managed to become a fun game in its own right. Thanks to its whimsical, cartoon aesthetic and its building mechanics, Fortnite’s a little less tense, and a little more immediately fun. It’s also both free and more polished – so it’s no surprise that it’s almost as popular as Battlegrounds. Here's what's in its latest patch
