It’s not exactly illegal to want to rule the world, but it’s the methods that a person uses to accomplish their goals that makes all the difference.

The current console generation is undoubtedly winding down, as the existing Xbox One and PlayStation consoles begin showing their age. It’s more than likely that we’ll see something from the next generation this year, whether that be the successor to the PlayStation, or the next Xbox systems. When they do arrive, how important would backwards compatibility be to you?

2018 may have been a brilliant year for gaming, but here’s the thing: Nobody wants to remember the good times. Instead, we’re hardwired to automatically complain when given the chance, and the year that was had no shortage of absolutely valid complaints. You look back at the last trip around the gigantic ball of flaming gas that gives us life, and there was plenty to hate on.

Video games are many things. They’re cathartic, they’re social hubs wherein you and friends can go on an adventure and talk smack to one another. They’re the perfect exit from the mundane reality of life, a power fantasy for the weary or a test of skill for those who wish to prove themselves in digital arenas and establish a new persona. Other times, games can be proper bastards.
