The World of WarCraft Shadowlands collector's edition is sexy, hefty, and a reminder of just how much I miss big physical boxes for PC games.

Back in the early 2000s though, there were plenty of Marvel games to be had. The first PlayStation had its own Spider-Man infestation, numerous X-Men games popped up, and we got the completely forgettable Marvel: Rise of the Imperfects fighting game. Amidst all of these licensed titles were plans for a Daredevil game, which would have arrived hot on the heels of the best incarnation of the man without fear, future Batman Ben Affleck. Bite me, I love that movie and the director’s cut reinforces just how great it is. Evanescence max Goth soundtrack and all.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon’s switch to turn-based RPG combat and team-based tactics may bite off more than it can chew thanks to terrible difficulty spikes and ill-defined character progression, but it’s still a breath of fresh air for the series. Ichiban Kasuga and his pals are an entertaining lot, the game has plenty of style, and even though the combat devolves into an ungodly grind, it’s a flashy new start to one of Sega’s best franchises.

This week sees the release of the PlayStation 5 in may a secondary region, and like most launch week consoles, some fine-tuning will be necessary over the weeks and months to come. If there’s a primary gripe to be had currently, it’s the PS5’s habit of defaulting to the PS4 version of a game whenever you download it, thus making your Internet service provider hate your guts when you have to double down on those downloads.

For now, I’ll stick to the Xbox Series X as the PS5 has an incredibly aggravating setup when it comes to downloading games. People who got their consoles last week have all reported numerous times when the PS5 downloaded the PS4 version of a game instead of the shinier next-gen version, even when they’d specifically selected the upgrade.

For the last couple of years, Microsoft has been a bit of a punching bag when it comes to talking about console-exclusive games. Sony has…all of this, Nintendo’s got an undeniable talent for selling you the same game several times over multiple generations and Microsoft has a world premiere of a Halo Infinite delay.

Known simply as The Order, the age-old enemies of the Assassins brotherhood is scattered throughout England and other regions. Some of these people you’ll meet during missions. And murder. Others you’ll encounter after uncovering a few clues.

It’s shorter and familiar, but the first solo outing of Miles Morales in his own dedicated video game is nothing short of amazing. A follow-up to an already spectacular first game, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales improves on its core design with creative energy and attitude that sets it apart from the original. A brilliant first step on the PS5 and a final hurrah for the PS4, Marvels Spider-Man: Miles Morales is spectacular.
