Gamescom Hands-on: Lime slime and manic manifestations in Luigi’s Mansion 3

By Sam Spiller

In all honesty, Luigi’s Mansion 3 was my most anticipated game walking into Nintendo’s business lounge at Gamescom. Sure, Geoff’s terrifying excitement may have had an influence, but Luigi Mario’s adventures as a Ghostbuster is one of the most bizarre outings for this franchise’s characters. Knowing what I know about its core mechanics, it’s also to be admired for just …

Gamescom Hands-on: Fun with Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games

By Sam Spiller

What can I say about the greatest face-off that ever happened? Not that much as Mario And Sonic competing at the Olympic Games isn’t the biggest of shocks to one’s rig. But that being said, there is a sense of unity about this section of the Nintendo universe. Unlike Smash or even that weird outing with the Rabbids, the Nintendo …

Which for most people, was a chance to create absolutely mad and punishing levels that required godlike thumb gymnastics to get through. With the tools to create their own retro classics, the only thing missing was a proper story mode. Super Mario Maker 2 aims to fix that.

Nintendo Direct round-up – All the trailers and news

By Darryn Bonthuys

I’ve got a soft spot for the Nintendo Direct conferences that pop up every month. They’re humble slices of gaming news, stripped off all that Hollywood teaser jazz nonsense, and get right down to business. Nintendo didn’t stray too far from their usual conferences last night, but they’re certainly taking one or two game characters in unexpected directions. Last Updated: …
