EA announced today that it had slapped together a brand new studio to handle the project, Full Circle, which is "working on the next evolution of Skate, and set to deliver an experience that will embrace and build upon everything our community found special about the previous games".
SKATE IS DEAD! EA WILL NEVER MAKE A SKATE GAME EVER AGAIN! At least that’s the drama that unfolded on Friday when news popped up of Electronic Arts abandoning the trademark for Skate, leading many an armchair pundit to declare the franchise well and truly dead. Not exactly.

If Skate were a person, it would be Rodney Mullen. A wizard on the streets who can still pump out impossible tricks, the world needs Skate more than ever. Make America Skate again dammit. A trilogy of excellence then, but not a quartet. For years, fans have been hungry for a sequel and it sounds like those dreams might finally be answered. According to one listing at least.
You might want to sit down for this one then, as EA isn’t planning on making America skate again. And that hurts worse than a rail fail.
