Sony's antiheroes Universe, that includes Venom, is taking shape with the Black and Silver sable film landing a director and getting an official title

Times have changed and money behind the film business no longer sits exclusively with Hollywood as big films need increased funding from international companies to get financed.

It's been over 18 months since the release of Spectre and yet there is still no studio that has signed up the franchise following Sony and MGMs deal expiring. It seems the bidding is still ongoing with a reported five studios still in the running to secure the franchise.

Comic book adaptations have become second nature in Hollywood, but its still nice to see studios take on less well known stories that perhaps have less blockbuster potential.

2016's reboot of Ghostbusters was a colossal failure, finding neither favour with critics or audiences. The studio still believes in the franchise though, but while they go back to the drawing board, they want to release in an animated movie.

Sony Pictures has confirmed the rumours that a sequel reboot to the popular Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is in develop. This time with Fede Alvarez directing instead of David Fincher.

Disney has Marvel, Warner Bros has DC and 20th Century Fox has their X-Men properties. Sony is looking to get in on the cinematic universe comic book action with Valiant Comics and have just announced a new director for their launching movie, Bloodshot.

After being rumoured for ages, it's finally been confirmed that Miles Morales will be the Spider-Man headlining Phil Lord and Chris Miller's animated movie!
