After a massive 18 gigglebyte patch, Destiny was essentially re-written for everybody. Whether you’re picking up The Taken King tomorrow or not, you’re in for a better Destiny experience. And after playing around in the brave new world for the last week, I’m in love with the changes that I’ve seen so far.

I’m all about the Taken King right now, an expansion which is going heavy on the marketing right now so please ignore me while I accept this non-descript sack of petty cash for my hyperbole. Naturally, you’re going to see an advert or two for The Taken King. But none of them, none of them can top the Japanese promotion for the game.

Destiny's King’s Fall raid unlocks a few days after The Taken King arrives, pitting you and five fellow Guardians aginst Oryx and his court of Taken. Bungie is promising a new kind of raid with new mechanics that’ll keep the experience interesting. I say balls to that, just show me the damn loot already.

Are you an achievement hunter? These probably won't give you the thrill you're looking for. But that's not the point, is it?

Destiny is light on story to say the least, but it seems that it wasn't always this way. In fact, Bungie stripped its online shooter of narrative just a month before it was originally meant to launch.

With The Taken King around the corner, Thorn and the majority of other Exotic-class weapons are getting nerfed. But when it comes to that legendary hand cannon, Bungie has no choice. Because Thorn is breaking the game.

Get ready to beta-test some all-new Crucible modes next week in Destiny, as Rift and Mayhem will be on show. And just remember: The first taste is always free.

The Taken King will delay its raid by a few days to let everyone get a little prepared, but Bungie promises you won't be waiting as long as the first time they tried this stunt.
