It appears that we're going to have to deal with parasitic body-snatching aliens once again as acclaimed filmmaker John Carpenter has revealed that he is involved in a potential reboot of his classic sci-fi horror The Thing.

The Thing is coming back... again... With this new big screen adaptation though, it will be the first time that author John W. Campbell's original story will be told in full.

A little bit of ye olde The Ooze from the Sega Megadrive days, mixed with the grossest and gnarliest moments of John Carpenter’s The Thing. Carrion bills itself as a “reverse horror game”, where your key focus is on destruction and the eradication of anything on the screen that isn’t a polymorphous red blob of nightmare fuel.

Marvel may be looking to the future by dipping back into it’s past with Legacy this week, but it’s also tidying up its universe before its main attraction returns.
