Following the massive success of the first season of The Witcher, Netflix is giving us more adventures of Geralt of Rivia... in animated form!

Netflix’s The Witcher was a lot of fun, wasn’t it? I enjoyed Cavill's stoic Geralt, and didn’t find the twisted timelines especially confusing, though I’m not as fond of the condensed stories and frankly awful dialogue writing. I think the show tried to do too much in to short a span. Muddying what could and rightly should have been a more profound, protracted experience. Still enjoyed the heck out of it though – and it seems that many, many others did.

There's a lot about the first season of Netflix's adaptation of The Witcher that was fantastic, but there were some criticisms too and showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich has now addressed some of these concerns.

The hype machine is chugging away, hard at work to position The Witcher as the much-watch genre successor to Game of Thrones. But is the show worthy of the fuss?

Netflix have released three character introduction videos for its upcoming adaption of The Witcher. Get to know Geralt of Rivia, Yennefer of Vengerberg, and Princess Cirilla of Cintra straight from their actor's mouths, along with some new footage from the series and some behind the scenes clips.

If you’ve read the books, you’d be well aware of just how grim they are, as that series paints a darker and more dangerous picture of life in a land where monsters are real and people are even worse. It’s a theme that the Netflix series wants to focus on, shining less light on the fantasy aspect of The Witcher and doubling down on the horror instead.
