Call of Duty Black Ops IIII is hopping into the battle royale genre this year with Blackout, a mode that will have plenty of hotshot players gunning for the Treyarch equivalent of chicken dinner. How many players? A grand total of 80 to begin with, with more players being added in the future. Possibly

The newly added Heist mode seems to borrow liberally from CS:GO, but is reportedly quite a bit of fun. With the decision to nix the traditional single-player campaign though, the mode I’m most curious and excited for is Blackout.

While Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII still has more to offer thanks to a more comprehensive Zombies mode and its multiplayer, it’s hard to justify grabbing the game just for the Blackout mode. Said mode will be up for testing in September however, with an open beta that kicks off on PlayStation 4 first after an August multiplayer beta. What does it look like?
