If you’ve been keeping up with TheMovies.co.za on Facebook and Twitter, you’ll have seen that we shared an article about how the dinosaur sounds in the original Jurassic Park were made. And the answer was… Animal sex noises. Yes, seriously. It’s okay, I giggled like a twelve year old as well. Jurassic World Twenty-two years after the events of 1993, …

Comments Off on Charlize Theron has a meanness inside her in this trailer for DARK PLACES

You could say that Charlize Theron is on a… furious-a run in Hollywood at the moment, after acting the crap (and most of the dialogue) out of Mad Max: Fury Road. And next up for her is Dark Places, an adaptation of Gone Girl writer Gillian Flynn’s novel that sees Theron teaming once again with her chrome and shiny Mad …

Back before JJ Abrams felt his disturbance in the Force and Lucasfilm were still looking for somebody to helm the upcoming new Star Wars: Episode VII (as it was still called then), Brad Bird was right at the top of their list. Lee actually succumbed to his symptoms at 08:30 on Sunday morning already, but his wife Lady Birgit …

Comments Off on SA’s Weekend Top 10 (5 to 7 June)

The more things change, the more they stay the same. This past weekend’s local charts have made a few shifts, but it’s more rearranging deck chairs than jumping onto a new ship. Still, at least one surprise leaps up in this weeks’ local box office charts… Last Updated: June 11, 2015

Just a heads up: If you aren’t fluent in German, you’re not going to understand a word of what is being said in this first trailer for director Stephen Frears (The Queen, Philomena) and screenwriter John Hodge’s (Trainspotting, The Beach, Shallow Grave) long awaited Lance Armstrong biopic The Program. Normally, we would wait until we had a English version of …

Comments Off on Meet the family in these new images for KUNG-FU PANDA 3

I’m not the biggest fan of Dreamworks animated flicks. Too often, they rely on star power and neglect the fact that CGI animated flicks are meant to tell more impressive tales for all ages. But lately, the studio seems to be finding their stride, especially now that I don’t have to see those f***ing Shrek sequels touted every year. How …
