E3 2019 didn’t provide much hope for Anthem, as that game's presence was swept under the rug in favour of games such as FIFA and Apex Legends. Is EA finally ready to take Anthem out back and put it out of its misery? Not exactly.

After weeks of getting the silent treatment, Bioware has finally started revealing more of what players can expect from the massive Cataclysm activities should they return to the game world of Anthem. And honestly? Cataclysms sound kind of rad.

Looking at the game’s official Twitter account, there’s not been a tweet there since April 23. There have been some retweets about maintenance, but there’s been no bespoke tweets for an entire month.

Clearly, the old way of launching a video game is not working for live service titles such as Anthem. EA agrees.

All of that big content that BioWare promised would launch in April for Anthem? Yeah, that ain't coming this month or anytime soon.

Hindsight’s a bastard, and while Anthem in its current state is still a beautiful slice of boredom, it could one day be the game that fans were initially promised. Could. The problem right now? Nobody wants to stick around long enough to help beta-test the full release until it actually does gets its house in order.

If the Bioware from a decade ago managed to nail time travel, hopped into the hot tub time machine and jumped forward a few years, they’d probably be horrified by the future that awaited them. Once the leading name in character-driven adventure games, the Bioware of today isn’t exactly setting the house on fire with its latest offerings.
