I’m kind of keen for Metal Gear Survive and its harsh landscape filled with all manner of creatures who resemble the aftermath of a homeopathic apocalypse. Whether you want to go it alone or with a group of pals, the choice is yours. What isn’t up for debate however, is the fact that you’ll need a persistent online connection to the world wide web if you want to experience th spin-off seamlessly.

Let’s say you want to be a fighter, and you’re allowed any one special ability to take into the ring with you. Super-strength would be an obvious choice, while infinite stamina would also be kind of handy. Me, I’d settle for some chronal manipulation if I was given the chance to be champion of the universe. Why take a punch, when you can ensure that it was never thrown in the first place? That’s kind of the idea with Hit, one of the many many new faces introduced in the Dragon Ball Super anime.

I kinda dig what I’m seeing from Metal Gear Survive lately. Which looks rather spiffy in this new collection of gameplay moments that have been slapped together.

You won’t have to worry about loot boxes in Monster Hunter World

Loot boxes are most likely here to stay for the foreseeable future however, with most publishers being more interested in games being platforms that encourage fans to spend on random rewards. It’s an idea which can easily be implemented in any game, but its potential seems to be tailor-made for RPGs whose entire goal is giving players the tools to grow stronger during the course of an adventure. RPGs like the upcoming Monster Hunter World. Fortunately, it seems like Capcom’s next big thing is bucking that trend.

Skull and Bones without Assassin’s Creed created a new IP without limits for Ubisoft

By Darryn Bonthuys

Skull and Bones was one of my favourite games of E3 this year. Essentially the best naval bits of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, this retooled collection of naval battles was gorgeous, fun and it thoroughly shivered my timbers. Here’s the question that many a person has asked though: Why is it a new IP? Why not keep it within the shared universe of Assassin’s Creed games? Because doing so wuld limit the new IP for Ubisoft.
